A wedding in Villa de Leyva, told in natural light

Villa de Leyva is one of the most beautiful places in Colombia to get married. Its cobbled Plaza Mayor — the largest in the Americas — its sixteenth and seventeenth-century haciendas and the Candelaria desert create a setting that photographs itself. What I add is patience: I stay close, follow the celebration and wait for the emotion that appears when nobody is looking at the camera.

I have been photographing weddings here since 2014, so I know how the light moves through the day. Mornings behind the mountains are soft and cool; late afternoon turns the stone and the dry grass gold. That knowledge is what lets a wedding day run without rushing, even when the ceremony starts late or the rain rearranges the plan.

My work is documentary. I do not direct poses or interrupt with flash. The colour, grain and warmth of analogue 35mm film guide the edit, so the photographs age slowly and still feel like the day you remember.

How the process works

  1. 1. Tell me your date

Send a WhatsApp message with your date, your venue if you already have one, and an approximate guest count. I reply with availability and the collection that fits the shape of your day.

  2. 2. Choose a collection

Compare coverage hours and the number of edited photographs. If your celebration runs long, you can add an extra hour or move to twelve-hour coverage instead of changing collections.

  3. 3. Hold the date

Your date is held for 24 hours while we confirm. The booking is formalised with a 50% deposit and a signed contract; the remaining 50% is paid when the gallery is delivered.

  4. 4. Plan the light

Before the wedding we agree on a timeline, a first-look moment if you want one, family portraits and a rain plan with your venue. Nothing is improvised on the day.

  5. 5. The wedding day

I photograph what happens: the preparations, the ceremony, the people who travelled to be there. Aerial photographs are made with sub-250 g drones under Colombia's RAC 100 rules.

  6. 6. Seven days later

The complete edited gallery arrives within seven calendar days, with individual downloads and a ZIP file. Your guests receive a private gallery that stays online for twelve months.

Collections start at $650,000 COP for Raíces, two hours and 60 edited photos. Encuentro costs $1,400,000 COP for four hours, Patrimonio $2,600,000 COP for eight hours and Eternidad $4,200,000 COP for a three-day wedding weekend. Do you charge travel fees in Boyacá or Bogotá?

No. Travel within Villa de Leyva, Sáchica, Paipa, Tunja, Duitama, Tibasosa, Ráquira and the rest of Boyacá is included in the collection price, and so is Bogotá. Outside those areas I quote a flat fee for Cundinamarca or tickets plus one night of lodging for the rest of Colombia.

How do I book a date?

Message me on WhatsApp with your date and the collection you prefer. Your date is held for 24 hours while we confirm availability. The booking is confirmed with a 50% deposit and a signed contract; the remaining 50% is paid when the gallery is delivered. No email or account is required.

How and when are the photos delivered?

The complete edited gallery arrives seven calendar days after the wedding. You receive high-resolution files, a private gallery for your guests, individual downloads and a ZIP archive. The gallery stays online for twelve months, and you can renew it for $100,000 COP for another year.

What happens if it rains on my wedding day?

Rain is part of wedding days in Villa de Leyva and Sáchica, especially between April and November. I photograph in light rain with clear umbrellas and coordinate a covered plan with your venue before the wedding. Overcast skies usually give softer, more even light for portraits.

Do you photograph destination wedding weekends?

Yes. The Eternidad collection covers three days: a welcome cocktail on Friday, full wedding coverage on Saturday and a family brunch on Sunday, plus a couple session. It is designed for destination weddings in Villa de Leyva, where guests travel from other cities or countries.

Can we plan our wedding in English?

Yes. I work with international couples and can handle the consultation, the timeline and the gallery instructions in English. You can send your questions by WhatsApp or email, and we can schedule a video call before you book. Spanish is also available for your local vendors.
